BackStage@Mecum: A Motor District Experience

Last month, a group of 40 Motor District owners and automotive enthusiasts gathered for BackStage@MecumAuctions—a unique, behind-the-scenes look at the Mecum Indianapolis Sale at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Known as one of the largest collector car auctions in the world, Mecum Indy is an extraordinary showcase of rare vehicles, intense bidding, and automotive passion on a grand scale.

Our group had the rare opportunity to go beyond the showroom floor and explore the inner workings of this world-class event. From vehicle staging and documentation to the fast-paced auction lanes and broadcasting control centers, attendees got an up-close view of how a sale of this size and scope comes to life. It was a chance to see the craftsmanship, coordination, and high-stakes energy that make Mecum so captivating.
